What is acne?
Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that causes spots and pimples, anywhere on the epidermis where hair follicles can be found, but especially on the face, shoulders, back, neck, chest, and upper arms.
When the tiny pores in the face are blocked by bacteria, oil, dead skin cells and dirt may develop a pimple, if your skin is repeatedly affected by this condition it’s called acne.
Most teenagers will have pimples at some point, Some were affected mildly by this condition but others develop persistent and clearly visible acne.
What causes acne?
- Excess oil (Sebum production) production
- Hair Follicle clogged by oil and dead skin cell
- Hormonal change
Why is it important to treat acne :
It is not a dangerous condition, but when left untreated, it may lead to the following conditions:
1) Scars. pitted skin (acne scars ) and thick scars (Keloids) can remain long-term after acne has healed
2) Skin Changes: After the acne has cleared the affected skin may become darker or lighter
What are the treatments for acne?
There are many treatment protocols addressing acne and acne scarring.
01 Meds and Antibiotics
Prescription meds (e.g. Accutane) and antibiotics are considered to be the classic approaches. Unfortunately, these are not always risk or side-effect-free and must be carefully monitored.
02 Laser therapy and Mesotherapy
In recent times Laser therapy and Mesotherapy is growing in popularity as they offer a safe and increasingly effective acne treatment, with various lasers designated to treating the condition when it is active or the typical scarring after it subsides.

How to treat acne?
