DERMATOLOGY - BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS (SPIDER VEINS)
WHAT ARE TELEANGIECTASIAS AND SPIDER VEINS ?
Scientifically named Teleangiectasias, are harmless facial blood vessels in the superficial layers of the skin.
Due to their typically exposed location (face, nose, cheeks and chin) and their bright-red appearance, they are generally regarded as cosmetically disadvantageous.
When located in the leg area they are commonly refered to as ‘spider veins’.
HOW TO TREAT TELEANGIECTASIAS AND SPIDER VEINS ?
In modern dermatology Teleangiectasias and spider veins are mostly treated by specifically designed laser therapy.
Spider veins in the leg area may also be treated by the more traditional approach named Sclerotherapy.
