Chemical Peeling

Lighten unwanted pigment and even out your skin tone

Reverse the signs of ageing and stimulate collagen & Elastin production

Diminish fine lines & wrinkles

Improve skin tone and colour and smooth out rough skin

Lighten acne blemishes and prevent future breakouts

Professionally administered Chemical Peels can dramatically improve your appearance, as, after removing the old outer layer of the skin, the result leaves you with very smooth, radiant, and less wrinkled skin.

Although Laser Therapy is gaining more and more attention lately, Dermatologists still consider certain peels among the most essential tools for maintaining healthy, beautiful, age-resistant skin.

When done regularly, chemical peels help to reverse the signs of ageing, improve skin tone and colour, stimulate collagen production, diminish acne and treat pre-cancerous lesions, like Actinic Keratosis.

Choices include glycolic (sugar) acid, lactic (milk) acid, TCA (trichloracetic acid), or beta acids and the best-fitting for your condition will be determined after thorough skin examination.

Our advanced medical/cosmetic treatments often combine chemical peels with other dermatological procedures like PRP/HASpectra-Carbon-Laser-PeelHydracool Plus Facial Treatment.

Some chemical peels require a brief recovery time before the optimal result is evidenced. “Studies show up to 50% reduction in acne after a series of chemical peels”.

FAQ

What is entailed in a typical chemical peel consultation?

During a consultation, you will meet with our German-board certified dermatologist, who will perform the peel to ask questions and find out what kind of a procedure you need for your skin type and condition.

The first step is a full skin evaluation, including its overall health and elasticity. We will also explain the types of chemical agents and recommend which approach would be best suitable for your skin.

How is chemical peel is performed?

A minor peel can be considered a very minimal-invasive procedure. Deeper peels, however, require some anaesthesia. As a first step before the peel, your skin will be cleansed to remove all of the natural surface oils.

Then the peeling agent will be applied gently to your skin. After a specified period of time, our dermatologist or skin care specialist will neutralize the acid and remove it from your skin. The treated area will then be cleaned and treated with a moisturizer or antibacterial ointments.

What should I expect after chemical peel?

Your face will be reddish and peeling for up to two weeks after treatment. For this reason, an anti-burn formula may be used to bandage the treated area. Light and medium peels may make your skin feel tight like it does after a sunburn.

After a deep peel, you have to expect several days of discomfort and tenderness as your skin becomes crusted. It may be a few weeks until you see fresh, pink skin, which must be protected from the sun for a short while. Your doctor will give you explicit instructions along the way.

What is the risk of chemical peel ?

As for all chemical peels, there is a slight chance of a skin infection before healing is completed. Seldomly, this can cause some scarring. Hyperpigmentation (excessive colouration) and hypopigmentation (pale areas) are again seldom complications worth mentioning, but following all your physician’s instructions will help optimize the final outcome.

Do the results of chemical peel last?

While we cannot just stop skin ageing altogether, your chemical peel will leave you with virtually new skin, so you have set the process back. Taking good care of your skin going forward will maximize the effects of a chemical peel.

We also recommend limiting sun exposure, quitting smoking, and limiting your alcohol intake for the sake of your skin.
